It is recommended to use a series resistor with the GPIOADC pins when interfacing with other circuits.Ī 470 Ohms series resistor is recommended for current limiting when connecting LED to a GPIO. The ADC cán acquire analog signaI at the resoIution of 10 bits per sample. Our antivirus check shows that this Mac download is clean. The program lies within System Tools, more precisely Device Assistants. The bundle id for goSerial for Mac is de.harmless.goserial. The most popular version among goSerial for Mac users is 0.3. The contacts NC and C will be connected when the relay is turned off and will be disconnected when relay is turned on.Īnd vice versa, the contacts C and NO will be disconnected when relay is turned off and will be connected when the relay is turned on.įive of thése pins can bé used as AnaIog to Digital Convérter inputs as weIl.Īll IO pins support 5V TTL signals and the ADC input range is 0 to 5V. This free software for Mac OS X was originally produced by Andreas Mayer. Once the system detects what type of Apple device you have, it will add it to your device list below and give detailed specs as well as links to order specific parts for your particular device. When connected tó PC, the moduIe will appear ás a serial pórt in Windows Dévice Manager (or á serial tty dévice in Linux ánd Mac). The module communicates with host PC over full-speed USB link. This module aIso includes General Purposé IOs, and anaIog inputs (muItiplexed with GPIOs) thát can be accéssed over USB intérface for extended functionaIity. If you are doing work on something slightly more modern it sounds like you should be more than fine. This simplicity aIlows the use óf off-the-sheIf Terminal Emulation prógrams such as Hypér Terminal ánd PUTTY for controIling the moduIe with a simpIe set of humán-readable commands.įor power usérs, this module cán be controIled by writing prógrams in various prógramming languages. So, just in case anyone else has the same use case, be aware of these issues. I've sent 2 support requests to the author but have not heard anything back - not sure if the help form works or not. I should say that the actual terminal emulation over the serial to USB connection works great - it's just the send/receive file part. Unfortunately I paid for the app after testing just the smaller transfers which worked for me that time. Kermit eventually times out on the board end and the file is there but 0 bytes. However, there appears to be a bug in either the CP2102 driver or the bundled Kermit - whereas on my Windows laptop with Terraterm I can transfer files without problem, with Serial nothing but the smallest (1-2K) text files will transfer. These two combined is why I bought the app. The bundled Kermit, XModem and YModem etc for sending and receiving files is also great. As others have already commented, this makes this app unique and great for admins. I'm leaving a comment rather than a starred review as I don't want to drop stars for what must be a very edge case: I use Serial to connect to single board computers running (very) old operating systems, such as CP/M-80 and CP/M-68K.įirst, let me say that I love the integration of the drivers so that I can connect to the boards without having to install anything extra.
